Radiacmeter IM179/U Military Gamma Dose Rate Meter (Issued, Certified)

We have carried the IM-179/U Gamma Dose Rate Meter for the last 15 years. This handy Radiac meter is easy to use and has always been calibrated by our lab. Homeland Security has raised license fees for the radioactive source so high, that we can't afford to renew it. We have a limited amount of meters available. Time is running out, so if you have been considering a rate meter for your Total Preparedness Program... do not delay? Like new condition. Meter reads from 2Mr to 200R per hour. Very accurate for its size and includes a test button to insure that it is working. Measures 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 1". Unit requires a 1.5 volt battery (A640PX) and a 6 volt battery (A32PX, both are included.

Potassium Iodate (Ki03), 170mg, 60 Tablet Bottle Potassium Iodate (Ki03), 170mg, 60 Tablet Bottle

High levels of radioactive iodine exposure can cause thyroid cancer...KI reduces the risk of thyroid cancer in exposed populations. The American Thyroid Association (ATA) endorses the use of Potassium Iodide (KI) to protect people from absorbing radioactive iodine released during nuclear emergencies. The NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) states that Potassium Iodide, if taken in time, and at the appropriate dosage, blocks the thyroid gland's uptake of radioactive iodine and thus reduces risk of thyroid cancers and other diseases. Is Potassium Iodide safe?... The FDA and World Health Organization has conducted extensive research and has concluded: “KI is a safe and effective means to prevent radioiodine uptake by the thyroid gland... The overall benefits of KI far exceed the risks of overdosing... The FDA says that pregnant women should be given KI for their own protection and for that of the fetus.” It is perfectly safe and had been used for decades by civilians and military personnel with no ill side effects. Potassium Iodide is a salt that is routinely added to table salt to make it “iodized” and if taken before or 3 - 4 hours after exposure to radiation, will protect against illness from nuclear reactor accidents or attacks. Potassium Iodide as found in Pro-KI, is recommended over Potassium Iodate by the World Health Organization (WHO) because the Iodate form can cause gastro-intestinal irritation and discomfort. Weighs .24 lbs.

Dosage for adults is 2 tablets per day during radiation exposure, children ages 3 - 18 years (less than 155lbs.) should take one tablet daily, age 1 month to 3 years should take 1/2 tablet per day and birth through 1 month should take 1/4 tablet per day.
Bottled in 60 tablets, 170mg each with a 5 year shelf life.
